Who we are

Cultivating surgical insight, skill, and identity

SUSS gives medical students with a serious interest in surgery early, meaningful exposure to the discipline — through structured education, hands-on skills, and direct mentorship from practising surgeons.

We complement the formal medical curriculum, not replace it, bridging the gap between the lecture theatre and the operating theatre.

Our flagship event

Surgical Mixer Night

Each year our Surgical Mixer brings students together with surgeons and trainees over an evening of conversation and connection — the highlight of a calendar that also runs skills workshops, research nights, and exam preparation across the clinical schools.
